Car

My DD is a VW Mk5 Golf GTI, in Laser Blue. The 2.0 TFSI engine is a nice lazy lump of an engine. Power comes from 1800RPM+ and lots torque all over which makes driving a real pleasure.

I’ve had her since January 2005; since then, I’ve changed quite a few bits and pieces…

Performance:

I’ve changed a fair few bits and pieces. First to come were a new set of wheels,  8.5×19″ ET 45 River Wheels R1s, which are some nice lightweight alloys-  considerably lighter than the OEM “Monza II” wheels the car came with. I usually match these with Pirelli P-Zero Rosso 235/35/R19 tyres, which are some pretty grippy all-season tyres.
I’ve also had her ECU remapped by Superchips, and have their Bluefin device which allows the end-user to change between OEM and custom map. I’ve fitted a ITG Maxogen air intake with a heatshield. The engine bay needs a cleanup though!

I’ve installed a forge motorsports diverter valve to replace the OEM DV (which has this tendancy to rupture under pressure), and she is also sporting an APR RSC turboback exhaust.

As a result, she’s currently outputting around 249BHP/252.45PS/185.68KW and a delivering a nice 280lb-ft/379.20NM of torque, with the stock K03s turbocharger putting out a nice 1.3bar peak:

Cabin:

At the moment, I have the frankly superb OEM RNS-510 system as my infotainment system. I’ve also installed DEFI boost and oil pressure gauges with DEFI Control Unit II.

I’ve also fitted a set of OEM LED taillights made by Valeo.
